I was 18, just graduated and was living on my own in a 1-bedroom efficiency apartment in Pennsylvania. There was a graveyard behind my apartment building, and I would have to walk through it to go to my job. Strange things would occur in my apt., that I couldn't explain. Things like I would turn my cable on, then go downstairs to check my mail. When I come back up, the cable will be off. Or, I would go and open the windows (they were old-school with a hand crank), and I come back and the windows would be closed. Lights would turn on or off whenever I leave the room. The way the apartment was set up was, when you come in from the front door, you'd see the couch against the wall, and the hallway, with the bedroom at the end of the hall, all in one eye-shot. Well, I was sitting on the couch watching tv, with my cat beside me. At the end of the hall, you can see my bedroom door shut with the room light on. Something made me look down the hall, not sure what it was, but i felt compelled to look. When I did, I saw, under the little space between the door and floor, a "shadow", move from right to left, toward my closet. Shortly after that incident, I became very interested in the paranormal.

I think the question is Ray... did you get up and look or move immediately from the apartment?
I will share one of my personal experiences as well. As a child of about 10-11yrs old, I was waiting for a friend to finish eating her lunch so we could continue playing. I sat under a shady tree next to her driveway, in the part that was closest to her house. As I daydreamed, I glanced towards the end of the driveway and noticed a tall man standing there facing the driveway and looking right at me. What was odd is that my friend lived on a dead end street and I had not noticed him approaching, also that he had on a long black overcoat, black stetson style hat and black boots and this was summertime. I really could not make out his face but as I stared at him, I knew he was staring back at me. I started to feel uncomfortable as there was no one else around, I was on a dead end street with no traffic, and this odd man was staring at me and had been for quite some time. I remember thinking about possible escape routes and glanced to my left and when I glanced back, he was gone. I remember this as if it happened yesterday. Every detail, the warm weather, the sunny sky, the growing unease of this stranger being somewhere he really shouldn't have been.
This was not my last run in with this man, but it was my first.

It was funny Sue, as I was sitting on the couch and saw that shadow move, I didn't think much about it. Until I realized that my cat was beside me, thats when I got that adrenaline rush. That got me so geeked about the paranormal, that I would lay, in the middle of the night, amongst the gravesites asking, " For those who rest here if you would like to talk to me, please do so ". I was so green, that i didn't realize that maybe I should have brought a recorder of some kind, lol! I guess I was searching for some horror movie scene, with the hand popping out of the ground or something. Since then, ive been looking for the answers, but only finding more questions.....

I will share the beginning of my paranormal experiences; when my mother noticed I had the family "gift", living in San Bernadino Ca. My uncle shared a bedroom with my brother, I was 3yrs old I would mention to Mom about all the beds & children I would play with in that room, I remember rows of beds & lots if kids. Well the old house belonged to a Great Uncle of ours and Mom inquired info from him, he explained it used to used as sort of a halfway home to orphans for a time. Later we moved back to our home town of El Paso TX. into a house in a historical area. I was 4 yrs old, my brother 3 yrs and in my room's closet as we moved in, I found a couple of old toys mom thought they were left there from the previous owners, well as time past by every once in a while I would discover new old toys like dolls, tops, an assortment of little items and mom could never figure out how they would appear in the closet. that was the beginning of my long journey with the paranormal...

Hi Ya'All! It has been a pretty amazing journey, still trying to find the answers through research. Having people with greater knowledge to learn from is what I'm seeking, I will always continue searching for the truth. Thanks!

Wow Maida, my experiences cannot compare to yours. My biggest one at age 6 was less a paranormal event than a death experience. Had just recoverd from the flu, them wham. Came down with strep throat and pnuemoinia. Oh I was a sick kid. I remember my Mom brining me out to the couch, so I could watch TV. Sometime later I was flying all over our backyard. Swoping and diving. Having the time of my life. Then I heard my Mom yelling at me, using all three of my names, I didnt want to go back "in" the house. She kept yelling, then I heard her cry. That scared me, so I decided I had better go"in" the house before my Dad got ahold of my rear end. At this point I looked up at Mom, she gave me a hug and told me never to do that again. Most certainly that confused me, since I thought it was a dream. A couple of weeks later, I over heard Mom telling an Aunt about the day I had stopped breathing, and how she had kept calling my name and so on. I did not tell Mom about the "dream". This is the first time have ever told this story. Considering the fact I was 6 at the time and I can clearly recall the events, makes me believe it was a real event.

One of my paranormal experiences occurred when I was around 9 or 10 years old on a summer's night during a lightning storm. My paternal grandfather appeared in the doorway to my bedroom which was located at the back of our family home. I sat up in bed, looking at him and told him to go away. My grandfather died in his upstairs apart in the family home when I was in 2nd grade. He was a bit on the crotchety side & rather abrupt. It wasnt until later in the years after watching Ghost Hunter's that the puzzle pieces fell into place. 1. My parents had begun to remodel our family home shortly after his death. I recall he never wanted anything done to the house when he was alive. He liked things as they were. 2. I feel he also had unfinished business on earth --- I preferred and called the gentleman next door as Pepere (french for grandfather) because of his gentle nature & realize today that perhaps it bothered my real grandfather to see me so close to a neighbor he didnt get along with. 3. It was a stormy summer's night and the atmosphere was full of energy. I saw him only that one time & perhaps it was because of my dismissal of him to just move on that he never appeared to me again. I do recall not being frightened ...just wanted to get back to sleep and see him move on.

Maida, you certainly have experienced some interesting and fascinating events in your life. I noted that you mentioned your mom noticed you had a "family gift" when you were younger. How very fascinating!!

We have a shadow man and a "hall walker' in the house. I saw "Hall Walker" within 3mos. of moving in here. My roommate had let 1 of her dogs out, after the dog came in, the roommate went back to bed. Within seconds, out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw the roommate walking away from the outside door, dressed completly differently than she had been a few seconds ago. What I saw looked just like my roommate. Whoa, I thought to myself. How the heck did she do that? Kept it to myself. A few days later a similar situation, this time there was no whoa to it, there was what the bleep is going on here. Mentioned it to my roomamte and her husband. Of course this only opened the flood gates for teasing me, until the roommate told me about the shadow man. I believed she had just found another way to torment me about "Hall Walker". One day I am sitting on the couch and Poof there he is. Right in front of the tv. I looked at him then both of the roommates waiting for them to say something, back at him, back to them. Nothing! They didnt see him! He must have been there 30-40 seconds then turned, went throught he wall, into (haha) my room. Kept quiet about it. Couple of hours later we are outside BBQing, movement in the house catches my eye. I look at the window and there he is again. Oh too cool, I think to myself. Roommate notices I am intently staring at the window and asks about it. With hesitation, I tell them both. Not a peep out of them. I can be sitting in my room and notice the feathers move on my dream catcher, which is on the same wall where I first saw Shadow man go through. I greet him with a hello or how are you, etc.. He occasionly pops in to view in different areas of the house then just as quickly leaves. Seems to be very harmless. As far as the hall walker goes I do beleive it is my roommates doopleganger, but will not go in to why I think this.

Hi Annie! yes , still it is still trying to adapt & deal with it- I have 2 uncles, 1 aunt & my mother who have unique gifts... my mother had detailed precognitions of her upcoming demise a year before & started preparing everything along the way, eerily she was so on target with everything that occurred down to the apartment where my family & I occupied in Houston while she was getting treatment (she predicted & insisted for me to stay away from the room with the flowers painted on the wall, I kept telling her i would never paint flowers on a wall... well when we entered the apartment in Houston to our horror & surprise the wall immediately facing the entry was painted a lilac color with black hand painted huge flower design, I knew then my mom was not going to make it through her illness.)

Wow Beccy! is this your current home? I would love to walk through your home, have you researched the history of he home? you can go online look up the deed for free through the city public records to see the owner history. Do tell about your feelings regarding your roommate, maybe i can help with the hallwalker.
